Are We There Yet?

A quick update...

We're currently waiting for our Travel Approval (TA) from China, essentially an invitation from the Chinese government to come and pick up our daughter. We're hoping to get that this coming week, at which point our agency can get our U.S. consulate appointment and set our travel dates. We could be in Nanchang with Zoe in as little as three weeks from now!

Are You Sitting Down? (Meet Zoe!)

Good news, everyone! We finally got our adoption referral from China, only six months later than we first expected.

Our daughter, Zoe, was born on May 14, 2006 and is currently at the Fengxin Welfare Institute in Jiangxi province (in South-Eastern China) where her name is Feng Lu Yao. Lorin and I willl travel to Nanchang in late January or early February to bring her home, and her name will be Zoe Lu Yao Sharp. Here are some pictures taken of her when she was four months old: http://www.stanford.edu/~ksharp/zoepix.html

As you can imagine, we're fairly buzzing with excitement and the 1001 things we need to do before the trip. Our thanks to our family and friends who have been so supportive during the long wait.

Stay tuned - our China adventure is just beginning!
